What is soft play and what are the benefits to children?

Soft play is an area dedicated to children typically composed of high quality commercial grade foam and soft materials that are safe for children to explore! There are many benefits to soft play! The environment encourages growth in gross and fine motor skills (tumbling, balance, crawling, walking, climbing, etc.), cognitive abilities (sensory rich environment, creative thinking, problem solving, imaginative thinking, etc.), and social emotional skills. The cushioned environment gives kids a safe area for inevitable tumbles which builds confidence.

What age range is soft your soft play recommended for?

Our soft play rentals are for children ages 0-4 years old. For the safety of infants, handheld babies are not permitted in the soft play area!

How many children can be in the soft play area at once?

Is soft play for indoor or outdoor events? Are there certain surfaces that soft play equipment and bounce houses cannot be set up on?

Accepted Answer

Soft play is for both indoor and outdoor events (weather permitting!). Soft play equipment and bounce houses can not be set up on loose gravel, sand, sloped or uneven grounds, loose/unsecured rugs. Equipment can not be in direct sunlight and requires a shaded outdoor area, large canopy, or indoor setting. All soft play set ups require a minimum 1 foot buffer around all sides. Bounce houses require a 4 foot buffer on all sides.

Can parents leave their children unattended during the event? Is there an option to hire an attendant?

Accepted Answer

Parents can not leave their young child unattended at any point during the event and must provide oversight while their child is playing within the soft play area. There is an option to hire an attendant for your event! Click here and scroll to the bottom to see rental add-ons and pricing.

What are your accessibility and inclusion features?

Accepted Answer

We strive to be inclusive of all abilities. The soft play area is made of commercial grade foam materials to absorb the impact of tumbles and falls. Equipment has a range of features including not only stairs, but ramps and larger blocks and smaller balls for fine motor manipulation. What is the rental cost and are there any additonal fees?

The pricing and inclusions of each package can be found on the Soft Play Packages page. The entire invoice is due two weeks prior to the event date. There is a refundable security deposit, delivery fee, Maryland sales tax, and admissions and amusement (A&A) tax included for each rental. The refundable security deposit of $250.00 is due at booking. The delivery fee is $10 up to 15 miles from Parkville, Maryland. An additional $1.00 per mile round trip thereafter. Sales tax and A&A tax are calculated based on the base product price.
